BOOK 1, FISHER & CHURCH SERIES

We’d shared a forever love. The kind they write stories about. A once in a lifetime chance at something special. For fourteen years Davis was my world. We were growing old together, fifties and counting. Then it was all ripped away in the blink of an eye.

We’d told each other everything, or so I thought. But secrets have a way of bubbling to the surface and it turned out Davis kept a few of his own. Hidden laptops, clandestine meetings, cryptic emails. The husband I’d believed in was a lie.

Or was he?

I have to find out. And Madigan Church is right there to help me. A complicated man. A man I wasn’t expecting. An attraction I can’t deny. Confusing. Challenging. Madigan makes me feel things I’m not ready for. Want things I don’t deserve. Not now. Maybe not ever again.

But with every step into the twisted mystery, the danger escalates. Neither of us is safe. Not from the truth, and not from what’s growing between us.

Because we aren’t the only ones on the hunt. Somewhere amongst my late husband’s secrets is something worth stealing, maybe even worth killing for.

And time is running out.

Author’s notes: This story features the death of a spouse who is not a main character.

‘The Meaning of You’ is the first book in a romantic suspense series following the same couple. There are no cliffhangers.

Fantastic - can’t wait for more

This story is absolutely fantastic, and Gary Furlong has a way of bringing it to life that is simply wonderful. I cannot wait to see what happens next with these silver foxes. Highly recommend.

Loved It

How refreshing to listen to MC’s that are over 50.
The cover made me want to listen so when i got the chance to review i didn’t hesitate.
Nick and Mads were thrown together by an unfortunate series of events they weren’t exactly amicable to each other especially Nick who was the epitome of the grump MC but he had his reasons. Eventually circumstances throw them together even when both of them were hesitant of trusting the other but when one of them is in peril the other goes out of the way to make sure he is safe.
I am eagerly looking forward to book 2 and hope there will be more Nick and Mads in the future.

Slow burn

This was a very emotional book. Nick’s pain after losing his husband and then finding out he has secrets was just salt to a still open wound.

His emotions when he thought Davis had betrayed him were so raw I felt them as if they were mine. You can feel his pain and it broke my heart.

Madigan and Nick meet at the care facility where Nick’s husband is a patient. Their connection was instant but guilt makes Nick push Madigan away.

Madigan isn’t exactly put off by Nick’s rudeness and calls him out on it as often as needed. He’s not afraid to give Nick a piece of his mind.

When they both find themselves in danger, Nick realizes that he can no longer deny his feelings for Madigan. It took almost losing him for Nick to get his head out of his a$$.

This is a very slow burn story that will have your heart pounding with anticipation of what’s going to happen next. There are so many secrets and bad guys that will have you wanting more.

It does end with a semi cliffhanger but our boys finally allow themselves to be together. I can’t wait for book two!

Amazing story!

First, I've read every one of Jay Hogan's books, I think! And I love them all! But this one was on the next level of heartbreaking, intrigue, and story telling. I loved every minute of it. I don't think I've ever cried in the first 30 minutes of a book. It took me a minute to get over that. But I trust this author 100% so I knew the hurt would be worth it. Gary Furlong did a wonderful job, as usual.

Loved it

I loved this in print, and enjoyed it even more on audio with the very talented Gary Furlong at the helm. The characters are well-drawn and complex, the plot is surprising and twisty, and the narration near perfect. Highly recommend it.
