When it comes to men, I have three simple rules.

No names.

No repeats.

No feelings—ever.

Professional rugby is my life. The fire in my blood. The beat of my heart. My future. My pride.

I play hard and hit harder. I dominate on the field and off. There’s no room for complications, least of all men. Then Eli Burgess walks into my life and my rules don’t just bend, they shatter.

Confident, intriguing, and out and proud in a way I can’t afford to be, Eli was never meant to be more than another nameless hookup. One spectacular night and done. If I could only stop thinking about him. But Eli isn’t simply the first man to make me want more, he’s my team’s new physiotherapist, and he’s made it perfectly clear he won’t be anyone’s secret.

I need to keep my head in the game and focus on my future. But every glance lingers too long. Every touch burns too hot. Every sensible choice is becoming harder to make. The sport I’ve always loved is starting to slip through my fingers. I’m caught between the game that owns me and the man who refuses to.

On the field, I know how to take a hit and keep moving.

Off the field? I’m about to discover the true cost of staying on my feet.

  • The Meaning of You

    Loved it.

Great chemistry between the main characters, good story. I don't prefer duets, and this was no exception, but we were forewarned so I knew what to expect. I love all of Jay Hogan's books, especially in audiobook form with Gary Furlong's narration. Great character development and very sexy.

  • The Question of Us

Gary Furlong is an excellent narrator

I got my wish for the audio. Loved it just as much as the first read through, if not more. Gary Furlong always gives a great performance and this is no exception.

  • The Promise of Together

What a fantastic way to end the series.

Just when I think this amazing romantic suspense series has reached the peak of story telling, Jay Hogan drops the final instalment and wow, just wow. The continued growth in Nick and Madigan’s relationship is very real and at times very raw. Then there’s Nick’s traumatic past coming back to cause so much havoc and pain before it’s metamorphosis into healing and recovery for all concerned.
